Repton Abu Dhabi: CAT4 and admissions

Repton Abu Dhabi's admissions policy says a CAT4 assessment may be arranged, where necessary, for applicants from Year 1 to Year 13, alongside school reports.

What the school asks for

  • Every application is reviewed individually, looking at academic and extracurricular achievements. Where necessary, a CAT4 assessment or a meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team is required to make a final decision. [1]
  • Years 1–5: the most recent school report, with comments on Maths, English and Science. A CAT4 assessment may be arranged as required, and the school may ask for an interview or short videos. [1]
  • Years 6–13: the most recent school report, with comments on Maths, English, Science and pastoral matters. A CAT4 assessment may be arranged as required, and an online or in-person interview or short videos may be requested. [1]
  • Sixth Form: entry is based on the requirements in the Sixth Form Options Booklet and may include a short meeting with the Head of Senior School. [1]

How the process works

  1. Families complete an application form and submit recent school reports; an interview and assessment may also be required. [1]
  2. Final decisions are made by the Heads of School with the Admissions & Parent Experience Manager and the Principal. If a year group is full, applicants join a waiting list. [1]

What this means for preparation

At Repton Abu Dhabi, CAT4 is used when the school needs more than reports to decide, so your child may or may not be asked to sit it. Practising the question types beforehand means it won't come as a surprise if it's requested at short notice. Note that the policy we cite is for 2024–25.
